MEND Margaret River by Solander House

MEND, Margaret River by Solander House

Nestled within the raw beauty of Western Australia’s Margaret River region, MEND embraces natural materiality and wabi-sabi simplicity, a celebration of imperfection and time. A quiet retreat for rejuvenation, the wellness centre includes saunas and ice baths, each space grounded in an ethos of connection to nature and the body.

Central to this philosophy, the antimicrobial properties of silicon bronze make it an ideal choice for environments of ritual and renewal. At the entrance, our Slab 280 Handle features a custom engraving of the MEND logo, the first touchpoint of the project. Cast in solid silicon bronze.

  • A ‘Living’ Finish: We celebrate the authentic patina of solid bronze. To enhance the natural ageing process, we apply a light patina that will respond to its environment and age over time. We don’t apply artificial 'finishes.’ Instead we embrace the natural, rumbled state of silicon bronze.

  • Unique Variations: Our products are cast in bronze. Each item will have its own character telling the story of its alchemy. From molten metal to machining and hand finishing, rather than concealing the cast texture, we embrace it.

  • Our products are crafted from silicon bronze, a material celebrated for its strength, resilience, and timeless appeal. As a noble metal, silicon bronze offers remarkable durability; however, when paired with dissimilar metals like aluminum, it can occasionally result in galvanic corrosion if not installed properly.
To ensure the longevity of your hardware and prevent potential corrosion, we recommend the following tips:

    • Use separation tools: Install nylon or rubber washers between different metals to minimise direct contact.

    • Apply protective coatings: Use lanolin-based grease or similar products on all contact surfaces.

    • Regular maintenance: Especially in coastal or high-humidity environments, periodic checks and care will help preserve your hardware's performance and beauty.

  • GST Notice (For New Zealand Customers):
Please note that for New Zealand customers, GST will be calculated and added at checkout.

  • International Sales: Please note for sales outside of New Zealand, duties, levies and or taxes may be charged in the destination country. These are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our prices.
